Problem recording an event with my galaxy tab 2

I can record between 19 and 20 minutes before the camera app will blank the screen and the tab 2 will not respond to any options. The only thing I can do is power down the tab 2 off after many unsuccessful attempts. When I am finally able to reboot the tab 2 the 19 to 20 minutes of video that were being stored to my sd card are missing. If I stop the recording before 19 minutes the video is saved as expected. How can I overcome the 19 to 20 minute barrier?

How big are the video files?

I've read Samsung, and maybe other manufactures, limit the recording to 4Gb. Many people think it's the fat32 limit, but from what I've read, it's Samsung limiting the size. You will probably need to use an app to get around it. You'll not be able to exceed 4Gb limit, but instead the app will finish the current vid (at 4Gb) and continue recording a new vid. You will then need to merge or edit all your vids later. People are using Dash cam apps to handle this.
