AC Question

On my Samsung Galaxy S4, my pattern lock was overrun by a grandkid messing around .

So I downloaded Android Device Manager (ADM) to the phone from the Play Store. It's clearly working because it identifies the phone and I can put message on the (locked) screen from the ADM web page.

The ADM web page says that the pattern lock is replaced with a password lock and asks for a password. There is a new lock screen but, there is nowhere on the new lock screen to input the new password.

Anybody have an explanation or a work around?
