Why do i lose my LTE or 3G service when wi-fi is on?

AC Question

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and it just recently began doing this. When i am on wifi, the serive bar doesnt show the LTE or 3G, but once i turn the wifi off, it shows it. I don't have the wifi calling on so i dont know why its doing this. I am able to make calls, but havent tested the texting yet. It just started this a couple of days ago. Is this something new or has anyone else experienced this?

Wifi takes precedence over the data connection... to save you money. Been this way from the start as far as I know. If the data connection icon is simply not showing when wifi is on, then maybe that's new... don't know, as my icon is there no matter if data is on or off.

This sounds normal. Wifi has priority over mobile data.
On my LG G4 with AT&T, the mobile data symbol drops off when the wifi is turned on. If something is using the mobile data at the time I turn on the wifi, both symbols will show until the background process drops the old mobile data connection.
