Why i am not getting message sound when i received new messages?

I am using lenovo vibe k5 plus.I have purchased it in online.beginning from the day I purchased the phone I have this problem.I have checked that all message settings are properly fixed.also I have tried third party apps like contacts+,chomp SMS,light flow. But of no use!!!please help me in solving this major issue.I will be very thankful!!!!!!!!

Do you have a notifications setting in the device? Also, sounds and alerts... You may have it off in main settings somewhere...

Yah I do have notification centre.actually i dont have separate app for messages.it is under contact manager.in notification centre>app notifications>contact manager there are options like block,priority and sensitive.priority toggle is on.that is to show notifications at the top of the list.is that ok?
