Galaxy Note Edge operates only if the charger is plugged in the device. If i disconnect the device from the charger, but automatically powers off. I tried using the USB wire to connect the device with laptop although the device is recognised by the laptop and can be charged, it cannot boot at all.

It seems like it tries to boot again and again, but it gets as far as the screen of Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Powered by Android.

The problem was initiated two weeks ago, when i was performing a beta testing for a new app. Also last week, i attempted to download a file that was sent via skype by one of my customers. It was a zip file. I couldn't open it. I tried to download the file with the laptop, again the same problem. I got a notification by AVAST that a virus was detected and isolated. I deleted the file from the device. Performed a security scan, but no virus was detected and it continued working for 3 days then it collapsed.

It seems that it cannot recognize that the battery is fully charged when disconnected from the charger. I have tried putting the mobile device in Safe Mode, by pressing together Power on button and volume down button, but it doesn't work. It is as if this function has been disabled from the device.

Welcome to Android Central! The battery might have failed. You may have to get it replaced.
