Hot spot working on the connected device, but disconnect my phone from internet

when i use the wifi hot spot, the conncted device IE my laptop is able to connect the internet, but then, i cant surf through my phone at the same time. its like i only have a connection on my laptop, and doesnt have one on my phone.

someone had this problem before?

That's basically what happens when using hotspot. It depends on your carrier really, but for me. Unlimited Hotspot plan offers me the ability to use both my device and the connected devices... this differs on other carriers. For example on my ATT I can't surf on my phone while Hotspotting but in Tmobile I can...

Oh weird. So that's how it works in the US? I can surf on my phone while hotspot is on. I use the inbuilt hotspot function in settings or the one in the quick toggles in the notification bar.
