New Update wrecked my phone

[AC Question]

My phone is set on auto update as I like to stay up with the technology. However the latest update completely ruined how my phone operates. I no longer have access to my lock screen. My swipe down menu is non existent, my 'exit app' and 'task manager' buttons at the bottom no longer function. Among a few other issues.

What phone?
What carrier?
What update?

Depending on who sent the update, carrier or manufacturer, contact them. They broke it, they own it. (If a company as large as AT&T can handle that, any company can - and AT&T does replace phones for bad updates.)
