AC Question

I find that there's an emoji that sits at the end of my texts and I don't want to use it how can I get rid of it

FIRST OF ALL, I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE A BIG THUMBS DOWN TO ALL THE SMART????PHONE DEVELOPERS WHO SEEM PREOCCUPIED BY WASTING OUR TIME BY ADDING CLEVER LITTLE FEATURES IT TAKES THREE WEEKS OF VACATION TO DISABLE IF YOU DON"T LIKE THEM.......

next, having spent a couple of hours on this issue, i will give my results. the problem in my case was not an emoji. it looked like and emoji but wasn't (fun, fun). it was not a sticker. it was not a signature. what was it? it was my google profile pic, appended to the end of every sms text message i sent. but only visible on my phone, not the recipient's message.

what to do??? good luck, would be nice if samsung/android made a one click remove feature. i can easily change the emoji lookalike by going to phone -> contacts ->me and poking your finger on the culprit. you can change it to another emoji lookalike or take your picture. but can you remove it???? maybe

if you have 5 minutes to look at some guy do a thousand key strokes to show you possible solutions? here it is

maybe some developer will fix this more easily???
so you can delete remove destroy the emoji sticker lookalike at the end of your sent text sms messages on messenger.

They have fixed it. What ui and experience are you stuck on?

i would also like to note that i seldom use my google email and had not added a photo.
i would also like to note that i sometimes but do not usually have a bag over my head.
i would also like to note that this emoji like thingi mysteriously changed to the baghead 2 days ago, causing me to notice it

sorry, upon revisiting my google profile to change baghead back to a sailboat which i like better, i found it is not baghead at all. i appears to be an animated thingi, a piece of toast with facial expressions popping up and down out of a toaster

It's pretty much standard to show a profile pic next to the messaging bubble. If there's no profile pic, then most messaging apps will replace the profile pic with the first letter of the person's name.

to be more clear, i have a samsung galaxy J7 i bought about 4 months ago. this phenom occurred 2 days ago. i think i may have had the blue/white figure shown in the youtube video appended to my message bubble before that, i don't remember

the link you posted was helpful, looks like some users had doughnuts, bunnies giraffes, etc.

but it also looks like many of them shared my frustration with this (and other android oddities), i think the android user interface could in many cases be simplified. little things like this waste hours of time

i am ok with the sailboat i have now, since i figured out it was only on my phone, not sent with the message, and that it was linked to may google profile, not some emoji or whatever that i couldn't locate.

Just to be clear, this isn't about Android -- it's how a particular developer (Samsung, in this case) codes their apps and/or how they explain the features. I agree that documentation for software and hardware isn't what it used to be, but I think that's partly because the vast majority of users doesn't even read the manual any more.:p Documentation is also tricky to keep updated as well, since updates to apps can also change how things are done. Forums like this one are often the best supplement for this kind of information.

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP !!!! I LOOKED FOR 2 HOURS YESTERDAY AND WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE LINK YOU FOUND..... THIS THREAD WAS THE CLOSEST THREAD I COULD FIND TO MY PROBLEM WHICH IS WHY I CAME HERE (but even this thread did not at first uncover the nature of the problem)

look when I type a semicolon and a closing parenthesis, I don't want it turned into some stupid yellow circle thing. How do I set my phone/message/keyboard to it stops doing that.

thank, Jleslie48
