New Recommendations

I currently have the Pixel 8 Pro, and I've had about 4 or 5 other Pixel phones before. I love my current phone but the phone gets extremely hot and slow, the battery dies extremely fast and I think its time for an upgrade anyway. I was looking into the Pixel 10, but then thought maybe I stick it out for the 11. I'm also open to a different phone altogether, maybe the Samsung Galaxy s26 Ultra? I use the phone for mostly basic things, photos, browsing internet, some games but nothing crazy, and watching shows/movies etc. I've never loved Samsung's UI or the bloatware they put on and I've always loved having the Pixel and stock android, but I was thinking of trying it out. Does anyone have any recommendations? should I go for the Samsung or maybe look into something else?

Did this battery behavior suddenly start in the past month? If so, then it may be a known battery drain but that cropped up with the March or April update. I believe Google is aware of it and will hopefully fix it in the May update.

I would recommend try playing with the Samsung at a carrier store or best buy see if its something you would come back to .
