Samsung galaxy tab 2 will not charge. Any ideas?

I just bought a samsung galaxy tab 2 that didnt have charger. I have a universial 30 pin charger but its not charging. I dont know if its the charger or the tablet, since i just got it 2 hours ago... Nothing at all happens when i connect the charger to it. Please give me any info that might help. Thankyou

Don't use a universal 30pin charger. Get one specifically made for the Tab 2.
