I have bought 2 tab a8s both have problems that do not have a fix. Both are due to the update.
setting not to get updates - useless - it updates anyway!
Even Samsung downloaded software to take control of the tablet for another problem-
They said it has a one year warrranty- as they could not fix the third problem!
MAIN QUESTION...
So i found a new samsung tab a7 10.4. it does everything i need, very well.
are there any security risks with this old a tablet?
Anything I should be aware of?
Used for internet browsing, shopping and email
thanks all

a8 keeps randomly splitting the screen is one of its most annoying traits
thanks
Are you talking about opening links from within Gmail, leading to a split screen? I think that started with Android 13. You can avoid that by long-pressing the link and selecting Open in Browser.

Another option is to use Samsung Internet browser and Samsung Mail. I have another Samsung tablet with Android 13 that doesn't open links in split screen. However, I don't use the Gmail app (my Gmail account is in Samsung Mail along with other email accounts), and I use Samsung Internet rather than Chrome as my default browser.
