I had an Android tablet that died after a couple of months so I received a replacement. The original tablet was running version 5.1, but the replacement only has 5.0.4 which is very different from what I'm used to. I'd like to upgrade to 5.1, and everything I've found online says there should be an "upgrade" option within the settings on the tablet, but there is no upgrade option on this one. It just lists Android version etc. Is there another way to upgrade? Preferably without having to use root access.

You may be able to flash it manually if you can find the firmware. What Make & model is it?

    (OP here)

It's a Smartpad model number S102, which might be a bit obscure.
