Can I install firmware from another region

Hi,
I am in the UK, my Tab S was originally purchased online from a source in Hong Kong, it works perfectly and has had an OTA upgrade to lollipop 5.02.
It would seem that the Hong Kong firmware is not getting the marshmallow upgrade, does anyone know if I download the UK version of marshmallow and install it, will it work ? Or will I end up with a brick.
