    I am trying to send some scanned documents through an app called Genius Scan. I am emailing them to my work and they aren't going through. I can see in my Gmail outbox that they are listed as queued. Do you know what is wrong? Is it the app or the gmail that is the issue?

    When you open gmail, it should connect and automatically send any mail sitting in outbox.
    Force stop the Gmail app, clear its cache and open it again, see if that puts a fire under it.... ๐Ÿ˜„

    Welcome to Android Central! Are you using the Gmail app, or the stock Email app with your Gmail account added to it?

    I have an LG-H340n running android 6.0 and gmail version 7.5.21.158049789
    Restarting the phone, deleting the message and re-sending has not worked.
    If i try to click "Force stop" it just gets stuck, and there's no "Clear cache" in the "App info" for gmail (see attached screenshot).

    Please advice.

    That's one reason I stopped using the Gmail app - they keep "improving" it to the point that it sometimes doesn't work. Try installing a different email app. Or, if you love the Gmail app, remove your email account from it, then add it again. that sometimes helps.

    Go to Settings>Apps, select Gmail, then tap Force Stop. Tap the Storage option there as well, and Clear Cache.

    Also make sure you don't have Battery Saver turned on. Some email apps are stopped to save battery - even if you send an email.

    I had the same issue. After a whole day the gmail outbox does not clear. I used gmail in the camera app to send pix to my own gmail. Finally I loaded a Yahoo mail app and selected it in the camera share section to send to my gmail. That was not exactly swift, but the pix arrived after about 40 min.

    Now I am not sure how to even find the gmail out box again. I have a new Samsung S8. Before I was using a Note 3 and did not have such a problem sharing with Gmail.

    If you have anything in your Outbox right now, this will delete those emails; so you'll have to write them again or get them from Drafts or whatever.

    Go to Settings > Apps, and select Gmail. Click on Storage. Click on Clear Data.

    Launch Gmail. It will behave at first like this is your first time using it. Give it a moment to remember the email address (or addresses) you use with Gmail. It will probably tell you a little about how the "new" Gmail works. You know what to do with that, just click through. Go write your email. It will shortly be sent, just as it used to work.

    I had a similar problem and I fixed it by opening Gmail in my browser. There I could send the e-mails queued in my outbox manually.
