Having some Wifi problems that I've yet to find a solution to, despite a lot of googling and messing around.

My phone is an Archos 55 Diamond Selfie Plus (dumb name for a phone and brand nobody has heard of) running Android 6.0.1.

The problem started with my Wifi being a bit flaky. It was clearly my device as I've had the same problem on multiple networks.

When I restarted my device, all seemed well until I tried turning on the WiFi. As soon as I toggled the Wifi to the 'on' position, it switched back to the 'off' position. This problem is fixed by restarting the device but it has happened multiple times.

Now, I'm at a point where my phone will not pick up WiFi networks. I will have Wifi on in settings and all it will display is "searching for WLAN networks"

If anyone needs more information i'll gladly provide it. Thanks

Welcome to Android Central! Try booting into Safe Mode, which temporarily disables all 3rd party apps. On most Android devices, while powered on, press and hold Power until the Power Off menu appears. Press and hold the Power Off selection until the Safe Mode prompt appears. Tap OK.

If the problem disappears in Safe Mode, then something you installed is causing the problem. You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem disappears. If the problem persists in Safe Mode, then it's more likely to be a hardware or firmware problem.

You could try a factory reset, but if the problem is happening in Safe Mode, then it's probably a hardware or firmware issue. Is the phone still under warranty? If so, then definitely contact the manufacturer for repair or replacement.

Thanks so much. I had the wifi working on and off yesterday but i suspect the solution will remain the same. I'm going to try a factory reset then after that I'll contact the manufacturer Thanks so much for your help
