Why can I no longer click on an http//link, embedded in an email and be directed to that location?

AC Question

Up until a few months ago, when I received an email with an embedded link, e.g., http//xxxx, (highlighted in blue print), I could simply click on it and be redirected to that location. Now, nothing like that works out of an email. If I'm on a blog, like tweeters (the original birding app - not the tool of our new prez) and it has a similar link, I can click on it and immediately be transferred. So...how do I fix this??

Clicking links in email us fastest way to get phished.

Go to settings and default web browser, clear defaults. There is one for URL links.

I'd run Malwarebytes just to be sure also.
