Why are my games lagging?

I've recently purchased my phone which is a galaxy prime amp, and I downloaded on a few apps, including one game called NBA live but for some reason it lags horribly. The rest of the actions my phone run completely fine, considering it is obviously new. I've tried reaching nba live to see if it was an issue on their end, but I have received no reply. I think it has something to do with my phone and what games it can withold. I've already tried switching the developer options on, but if anyone has any tips on how to fix my lagging game, help would be appreciated!!!!

Which version of android?
Which carrier?

How much storage space is left?
How much memory is installed on the phone?

Check your "battery optimization" options for the phone. You might need to white-list your game.
