Headphones not working when fully inserted in Moto z play

When I try to lissen to music and fully insert the head phones in the audio jack it will play the music via the speakers but when I don't fully insert it it does work I checked for debris but can't see any thing and if I want it repaired It takes 2 weeks so I am hoping any of you know a way to fix it my self without taking it apart
