How can I recover unsaved Memos?

I own a Samsung J5 (2016). I was writing something lengthy on the Memo and didn't notice my battery draining. I was too into it. Soon enough, my phone shut down. No more battery. I opened my to check the Memos and I got none of what I wrote. Does anyone know how to retrieve it? Is there a way?

Welcome to Android Central! Use a file manager app (or connect the phone to your PC via USB and use Windows Explorer) to see if there is a LOST.DIR folder. There's a remote possibility it could be in there, but it might not be in a recoverable format.

I usually recommend against using the stock note-taking apps that come with a phone, because those apps typically don't sync automatically anywhere. Consider using Google Keep or Google Docs, which is constantly syncing your work to your Google account.
