numbers on the reject list still ring. when I go to add them to the list it says they are already on the list

Welcome to the forums! I am sorry you are experiencing this issue. What kind of phone do you have, and are you using a caller blocking app or an app that came with your phone?

I have an S7 and I get calls from blocked numbers as well. I did notice when I got up this afternoon, I had a notification that a "blocked number" had called and my call log shows it as well. I'm using the built-in "block" feature. I'm a little ticked myself that these "blocked calls" are still ringing through. I thought the purpose of blocking calls was so that they couldn't get through to you? These type of unsolicited calls has gotten worse over the last month or so.

Is this built-in block feature from your carrier or from Samsung themselves? If it's from your carrier, I'd call them and complain. This shouldn't be happening to you. If it's Samsung, you could certainly try contacting them via their customer service. If you have all the right boxes checked off and this is still happening, it is definitely unacceptable.

Are you answering after the first ring? The call is rejected by callerID, and it's rejected in the phone. The callerID is sent to the phone between the first and second rings, so rejected calls will still ring once. (Only a carrier reject, if your carrier has such a facility, can reject the call without ringing the phone, since it can delay ringing the phone until after the callerID is sent. But that would mean that all your callers would hear at least 2 rings before you answered.)

Happening to me too - Galaxy S4. The autoreject list used to work flawlessly. Recently calls started ringing through even if on reject list (as fulll number or "starts with"). Apparently the call is rejected once I "answer" (after several attempted and ignored calls and then multiple rings I have picked up only to have call end). I can tell they were rejected as they are all listed on the rejected calls list (Calls, Recent, filter to just rejected). Quite annoying as the point of putting numbers on autoreject list is to stop the calls from ringing through.

There is a reason why for this, at least I believe this is the reason why.

Spammers, use a spoof app that hides their actual number from your caller i.d. so when they call you and you block the number, your blocking a number that doesn't exist.
Let's say the real number is 555- 1234. On your phone it shows as 799-7890. You block 799-7890 on your phone. The spammer scammers call back again, BUT... your caller i.d. still sees it as 555-1234 so it let's it through, and since they are using a spoof app, you phone sees the real number, but blocks the fake number. The problem is there, the block calls feature is tricked, in reality it sees 555-1234 even though you see 555-7890. So even if that is blocked it will still ring because it sees the real number and NOT the one that shows (blocked) on your phone. I'm sorry if this is confusing, it's kinda hard to explain. I hope I did enough to help you guys.

Try this...
1. open your phones ringer by clicking on green phone icon
2. Top right click on the three dots, then click settings
3.click on blocked numbers
4. Turn on block anonymous calls by touching or sliding bar till green.

That may help. Just remember, if the calls are still getting through your block attempts, they are scammers

No solutions just forms to fill out are you just collecting data for other companies to use what about giving solutions

No, evidently no one looked at a thread that's almost 2 years old.

Read post #6 . If you get one (or possibly 2) rings, then it stops, that's normal. If it keeps ringing, something's wrong. Which is it?

I'm very sure that spoofers are starting to get around our blocks by adding numbers to the end of the phone numbers. So go to your call settings and look at the list of blocked calls, by default they should read "exactly as" the number listed. You can click on that and change it to "starts with" or "includes" and that should stop them from getting around it anymore.

SOLUTION that worked for my Galaxy. The same number kept getting through until I added the number to the reject list manually as just a 7 digit number and selecting "block if number contains" option.

Hi there.

I might have a solution to your problem with BLOCKED calls ringing thru on your Galaxy phone even know its BLOCKED.

What I'm doing is using a 3rd party app that only BLOCKS numbers that aren't in your Contacts.

My T-mobile Galaxy S10 with updated Android 10 o.s. seems not to ring when a non-contact number tries to call me..

You will see in the recent call log the number that tried to call you which is no problem as you can just erase the number.

With a 3rd party Non-Contact blocker app you will have silence from unwanted #'s.

But just remember to check the incomming numbers and add anythat you might need or are considered IMPORTANT to your contact list so they can ring thru.

To block Caller I.D. hidden private numbers goto androids call reject list and turn on block unknown numbers then private numbers cant ring your device.

If any of you reading this uses T-mobile service then add this as a bonus block.

**67*15094570051# in the phone dialer then call it like a regular number and your devices forward when busy number will be changed to a line that says we're sorry all circuits are busy now. Will you please try your call again later. Or the non-blocked contact number calling might get 4 rings followed by a busy signal or it might just ring and ring forever until the calling party hangs up.

All contact saved numbers can still call you normally and if they dont answer then they can leave a voicemail...

Let me explain why at default blocked callers always sent to voicemail for those who don't understand..

In call forward settings there is a line called forward when busy which has tmobiles voicemail number set in it and when you block a call either 3rd party block app or on devices internal reject list they get sent to the number in the call forwarding when busy line so to avoid blocked / rejected calls going to voicemail read above and dial the **67* stuff indo dialer key pad as shown then initiate the call. Simple as that. No more voicemails from blocked numbers same as voice calls.

Hope this helps out. I know it works perfect for me..

I have a stylo4 and im still getting calls from spam risk, scam likely, telemarketers and unknown numbers even after i block them. Im also using the built in block feature yet nothing seems to stop the callings. Is there a way i can permanently remove these numbers so they will not call anymore?
