Do the files of the "safe" option of Huawei phone get saved in the external?

My SD card seems to have corrupted. There were files I kept in the "safe" option of my HUAWEI phone. I don't want them to go in wrong hands. But after the SD card got corrupted, whenever i try to go in the safe option it says that "HUAWEI safe is not found."
My question is do these pic got saved from the "safe" option to the SD card or to the internal memory of my phone? And how do I get them back?

If the card was formatted as adoptable storage (or "internal"), what's on there can only be read by your phone. If it was formatted as external storage, put the card into an adapter and plug it into your PC and you can see what's on it.
If the card is a SanDisk, contact them online at SanDisk microSD Tech Support upper-right corner - live chat. They'll replace defective cards.

And you can always format the card in your PC - or even in your phone. The data isn't that secure if you do, but it will keep the prying eyes of most people from seeing it.
