AC Question

When sent a web address via text message, I cannot connect to it and instead get the message above. However, when I go to 'settings' on my LGG2, there is no option to turn on URL. Can anyone help me to be able to open web pages sent via text?

How do I turn on to connect to URL from a text in the settings

How do you able to connect to a web site from a text message

Re: How do I turn on to connect to URL from a text in the settings

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Open the Messaging app, tap Menu>Settings, and look for an option that lets you choose whether to open links within the app or in a separate browser.

Re: How do I turn on to connect to URL from a text in the settings

The ability to do this depends on the messaging app you are using. Some have the ability, some do not.

Which phone?
Which version of android?
Which carrier?
Which messaging app?

Re: LG G2 "Go to settings and turn on URL" but I have no option to "turn on URL"

For us stupid ones...challenged technically....lol..

When you open your text messages...at top on the right hit three dots ....scroll down then under advanced open the more link...then tap on link & send and whammo kupow....top will be connect to URL....your in !!!

Re: how do I connect to url?

Welcome to Android Central. That's not a setting. You need to open a browser and, assuming you have either mobile data or wifi, put the URL in the browser window.

re: [MEGATHREAD] How do I turn on "Connect to URL"

Welcome to Android Central.

What phone do you have? Do you have mobile data enabled?

re: [MEGATHREAD] How do I turn on "Connect to URL"

"URL" is not something you can turn on/off.

What is the exact wording of the error message?
Which phone?
Which version of android?
Which carrier?
Which web browser?
Does it happen with both wifi and mobile data?

How do I turn on my URL on an LG Vista?

I do not know how to turn on my URL I have been into settings and I am not seeing it

Re: How do I turn on my URL on an LG Vista?

We need a much more verbose description of the problem you are having since URLs are not something that can be turned on/off.

Which phone?
Which version of android?
Which carrier?
Which app are you having problems with?

re: [MEGATHREAD] How do I turn on "Connect to URL"

A URL is the address of a device on a network. I think you're remembering the message incorrectly - the only way to "turn your URL off" is to turn off wifi and mobile data (or turn on airplane mode). If you can get to a website, your URL is "on". It's probably asking you to turn something else on. (A site that asks you to turn your URL on is a site I wouldn't go to - either the site's developer didn't know what he was doing or there's something wrong with the site.)

How do I Connect to url in settings?

I keep getting message
Connect to url in settings. Can't figure out where in settings it is. I know its there because I've seen it before.

Re: How do I Connect to url in settings?

You don't - that sounds like either malware or an app "written" by someone who didn't know what he was doing.

You connect to a URL with your browser usually, and sometimes with an app (like the Android Central app connects to the URL of this site).
