Phone: Alcatel Onetouch Idol 3
Android Version: 6.0.1
Service: MetroPCS

Hello everyone,

My file manager app is showing sketchy notifications claiming that it wants to "boost ram" or do some other nonsense. There is no option to remove or disable the app.

How do I get rid of this app?

There should be somewhere - like in Settings/Application manager. Or try using Link2SD to uninstall it.

Manufacturers don't include apps that do exactly the opposite of what Android wants. (windows wants as much free RAM as possible, so cleaning out unused files will "boost RAM". Android wants RAM to be as full as possible, so if you "boost RAM", Android will just load a lot of those files back, wasting battery and slowing down the phone.)

My phone was suddenly showing unknown weather station and boost RAM software and trying to get me to install even more apps while filling up my home screen. It took my quite a while to figure it was File Manager suddenly (after about 6 months) doing this all on it's own. Of course you can't uninstall but when I put it back to factory settiings this stoped. It's maleware if you ask me and built right in. Thanks Android. Oh and Phone is Alcatel Idol 3 w Android 6.0.1
