I need to update my phone but its not downloaded

Hello,
Ive seen that superuser app has a "uninstall root", does it work? Can i update my phone if i use it? Currently im not even allowed to search for updates!

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Are you saying that because the phone is rooted, it won't accept an official OTA system update?
