Android Central Question

So I accidently dropped my phone-Samsung Galaxy A8, and the LCD broke. I wanted to fix it, but the price seems so expensive and also all the shop owners that i asked for help recommended me to just buy a new phone as the price is actually $200+. Before that, i need to retrieve some of the informations that i have in my phone, but as i do not know how. May i gain some assistance on how to retrieve the information using my laptop? I searched for it, but i dont know if i should trust the internet so....Please help me.

It's about impossible to get information off of a broken phone, you can't just connect it to a PC and pull information off. The device needs to be unlocked, and you need to enable the connection to the PC on the phone. They are designed this way for security, and this is why it's important to back your stuff up. There are numerous ways to back a phone up for free.

Is your device locked?

What information are you trying to get off it?

Is the screen black, or does it still light up but not respond to touch?

If the screen still displays something you can connect a keyboard or mouse directly to the phone to navigate and use it.

If you had a micro SD card in it, your photos should be on there.

Your contacts, and possibly photos will be backed up to your Google account.
