Sync issues, Contacts and Calendar.

OK, smart people answer this please: contacts and calendar won't sync and havn't done so for about 3 months. How can I get them to sync WITHOUT losing all their contents from my phone?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? You're talking about Google Contacts and Google Calendar, right? Go to Settings>Accounts-Google, and select your account. Do Contacts and Calendar show a Sync Error?

Sorry, this is my question (I hadn't registered yet) HTC Desire 530, and no, it is not reporting sync errors, just stated last sync was back in July

Try removing your Google account in Settings>Accounts​, then adding it back again.

Are you saying an error message tells you that something got corrupted, or are you asking if that's what I'm suspecting? If the latter, then yes. Sometimes it helps to clear out that data, then add it back again

Try removing your Google account in Settings>Accounts​, then adding it back again.

I'm running on an LG V10 with Nougat. This isn't an option. You're not allowed to remove the main account. You have to factory reset, which I've tried and it doesn't help.

Are you trying to sync contacts and calendar events from your Google account to the phone, or that data from your phone to your Google account?
