How do you add a contact picture from the gallery on a note 8.

I have tried through the contact>edit>photo path suggested by this and other forums but unlike they suggest there is no gallery icon on the opened camera screen, just reverse camera, shoot then edit. I have tried the gallery>photo>menu path but there is only set as wallpaper. What happened to the simple "set as" option as on note 5?
