Android Central Question

I am pulling up pics in my google photos to make a calendar for Christmas of my sons 1st year. I have pics that are ok as im scrolling through google photos but when I click on the photo to download it goes black. I know it was not how it was uploaded as they are on auto back up plus its not all. Example his 1st birthday....all where taken and uploaded at the same time but as I click next on the photos individually some are black and some are fine. Im missing some really important photos being black. HELP!

Welcome to Android Central! Go to photos.google.com on your computer browser -- are the photos there? If so, then you know they're safe.

Try going to Settings>Apps, select Google Photos, then Storage, then Clear Cache. If that doesn't help, you could also try Clear Data. If you clear data, then when you open Google Photos again, it will resync the photo database from your Google Photos in the cloud (which might take a little while).
