Using Google Photos

I have a Note 4 (32gb and 64gb Micro SD Card full), and an S7 Edge (32gb, don't use as much). Both are full and I'm tired of the battery not lasting, overheating, and laggy. Would using Google Photos (High Quality) be sufficient? Also, does it back up both the phone, and SD Card and keep the folders?

I take a lot of screenshots and short game clips (pro gamer). I've backed up not too long ago to an External HD, but I can't carry that everywhere and occasionally backing up takes up a lot of a space.

Welcome to Android Central! I find it very difficult to distinguish any difference between High Quality and Original Quality, so I think it's sufficient.

Your Camera folder automatically gets backed up if you have Google Photos Backup turned on. You can manually choose to turn on backup for any other folder with images in it, so you can definitely do that for the Screenshots folder. It should show you folders on the SD card as well.

Google Photos Backup is an excellent feature, so I think it's a good idea for you. Once images are backed up, you can then use the Free Up Space option in Google Photos, which will delete all images locally that are already backed up to the cloud. You can still access those images easily in the cloud, and you can download an image back to the phone if necessary.

Be aware, though, that certain backup settings could lead to battery drain. For example, if you set it to back up on cellular data and you're taking a lot of photos (e.g, on vacation), the phone might use up more battery as it backs up each photo right after you take them, since it's accessing the web. If your signal is poor, that will use even more battery, since the phone has to try boosting the signal, and the upload will take longer. If you don't have an unlimited data plan, this could also be important, since it can eat into your data usage. But it's easy to set it to backup only on wi-fi.
