Android Central Question

On my Samsung Galaxy S3, the time stamp shows when the sender sent the message. For example, I turn on my phone at 5:45pm and I receive a text with time stamp sent at 2:30pm. )

On my Samsung Galaxy S6, the time stamp shows when I received the message (for example, when I turn on my phone at 5:45pm and I receive the message at 5:45pm)

How do I set it up where I know when the text was sent instead of when I receive?

Each message has both timestamps.
Which timestamp you see by default depends on which SMS app you are using.
Some apps will show both timestamps, some will not.

For example, in Textra, the default shown is the received timestamp. To also see the sent timestamp, swipe left in the conversation view. (Other apps may do it differently.)
