How can I block messages from those other than my contacts?

I have a Samsung Galaxy J3 and I am always getting spam texts or wrong numbers. I get multiple a day and blocking each number just isnt enough to keep up with it all. Is there some way that I can just filter out or block messages that arent from my contacts?

There are probably some SMS apps have that feature (allow messages only from contacts). Unfortunately, I don't know which apps those are.

If they are from the same region, the network provider can block such things.
The other more extreme solution is to create a Whitelist and block all others. This could bite you on the bum as you will miss any calls that don't send their number.
You also might have a function in calls settings to block unknown numbers. Not sure if this works for messages.
