Calls coming in with + sign in front

[Android Central Question]

I have a galaxy S8 and was a Verizon phone "unlocked for any gsm network". Using it on at&t network.

Everything works fine except when it receives calls even if they are my contacts it won't display the contact and has a + in front of it. Also if I tap on recent call it says international caller can't be reached. Have to manually type it or go to contacts.

Also pictures won't send.

Any help appreciated. I tried switching between LTE/GSM and global which was standard setting for network.

If you enter/ save your contacts as a local number (without the international prefix), does it still do this?

Yes still does it
