How to stop access point switching

[Android Central Question]

I have a Huawei m3 tablet running Android 7 which I use to control a digital audio mixer which has an internal WiFi access point. This works well until the tablet loses connection to the mixer"s (due to range}., at this point the tablet switches to my home router wifi network I have then to manually reconnect to the mixer"s ap. I'd like to be able to prevent the tablet switching to other ap"s that might be in my settings (I"ve disabled WiFi scanning to no avail}. Any suggestions..?
