Android Central Question

Hi All,
I mistakenly opened a link which resulted in opening a new tab on mobile chrome with a pop up saying "installing _____.apk". I quickly closed the chrome, cleared all browsing data. Now when i try to search that ______.apk file it appears on search window but when I tap on it it says "complete action using". FYI, I am using Huawei Mate 10 Lite. I have factory reset my phone but still when i try to search it, it again appears. I cannot find it in my download history, data files. I have used apps like total commander, cc cleaner, clean master but I am unable to locate the file. I just dont know why it appears when I try to search it. Please help.

Clean Master won't clean anything, it will just waste your battery - uninstall anything written by Cheetah. (It's not a virus, but they show an appalling lack of knowledge of how Android works.)

Then install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and a good anti-virus app (I use Avast Mobile Security & Antivirus, but it's your choice). If neither of them find anything, there's probably no virus or other malware on your phone.

Or try searching in / (that's a folder name) for the full name of the apk file, including the ".apk" part. Then delete it.

Then again, if it didn't install as a system app, the factory reset deleted it.
