Why Is My Phone Not Working Properly With a Headset or Earphone

I use a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Sm532 phone. The problem I have with the phone is that I cannot use a headset or even an earphone with the phone. I am unable to use the earphone that came with the phone itself, and I tried using a headset, and found it impossible. When I use it, the sound feedback is so faint that it is inaudible. Even when the volume level is put at 100 percent. Is there a solution to this problem. Please do let me understand what I can do.

Welcome to Android Central! This is only with wired headphones, correct? When you plug them in, are you certain the plug is pushed in all the way? You should hear or feel a click. Sometimes the jack can be pretty tight, and the user might feel a little cautious about pushing in too hard -- in that situation, sound might not play through the headphones at full volume.

Also, make sure the jack is clear of any debris. Use a can of compressed air to blow it out.
