Android Central Question

How do I get the app drawer back for the LG Stylo 3?

Welcome to the forums. Most recent LG models come with the app drawer disabled by default, meaning that all your apps reside in the home screens. Try this to enable it: go to settings - select home screen - select home - tap Home & app drawer. Tell us how it goes.

In enabling the app drawer in the way posted here I followed the instructions given. However, when I enable the home screen plus the app drawer, all of the apps I had on seven pages disappear and I am left with only the two original screens that I started with on the new phone but it does add the app drawer. If I go back to the home screen only I get all of my pages back as I had them before. How can I add the app drawer to the home screen and leave all of my screens as I have them set up. I hope that makes sense.

I think that's the way it works. First time you enable the app drawer you need to recreate your home screens from scratch, dragging the icons from the app drawer.

Maybe there's a trick to keep all the shortcuts on the screens, but I don't know about such an option.

Thanks for your reply and suggestion. I tried that already but for some reason, I could not add any more than two screens to appear. I tried filling the two screens full of shortcuts thinking that another screen would appear but that did not help. Can you tell me how to add screens another way?

Thanks for the tip. It took quite a few tries but I now have the extra screens I need AND the app drawer. I wish that the owner's manual I downloaded had that kind of information but I guess that I will have to rely on sources such as this to get information on such things unless you have any other sources to suggest. And it would be nice if I could somehow turn on email notifications for replies to my posts. I have scoured this forum for help on that subject and have checked every box I can find in the settings but no notifications yet. Thanks again for your valuable help.

Glad it helped! Not sure about the user manual. These new features came with recent system updates, so the best way to know about them it's browsing around and, of course, use this forum. Feel free to ask anything you need.

About the notifications. They can be a bit unreliable sometimes. The best thing is if you subscribe to any thread that you want to follow, so you'll get an email for any new post.

Well strangely enough, I got my first email notification on your reply just now. And another thing about all of the app drawer and extra screens saga I just discovered that a lot of the apps that I had installed before are missing. I had to send my new phone for repairs to the display and I did the LG backup thing before I sent it out. I guess that the missing apps did not make it through the process or got lost during the home screen changeover to the home screen with app drawer change. I am glad I am tech savvy enough to figure out the work arounds that gets me where I want the phone to be. Thanks.

I just wanted to add that when i went to the settings, then display i couldnt find the home button so i searched it , it came right up and i was able to follow the rest of the steps that way. I dont know if anyone else is having that problem.

THANK YOU!!! I had a different issue. I want my home screen BLANK!!! and want to be able to open my full app list through the icon at the bottom. This allowed me to do that! I hate having all that mess on the home screen, defeats the point of choosing a wallpaper! XD

Perhaps this thread is too old for any followers, but when you have selected the home page with the app drawer, the ability to change the grid size disappears. I know there is a work-around to be able to go to 4x5, but I cannot find it. Anyone?

My only issue with the app drawer is when I select it to use, the time, my notifications and lte reception bar get covered up by a white bar. Only while I'm at my home screen though. If I select from the other 2 options no bar covering up my notifications, time ect... Anyone have advice? I sure could use some... Thanks
