Android Central Question

So, this started recently, but my phone, an LG G6 with android version 7.0, has started to disable Wi-Fi connections. Previously, I had no trouble connecting to any Wi-Fi connection, but recently it started disabling them (no updates or new apps added). Like, it will connect with them for like 2 seconds, then disconnect and then mark it as disabled. Every night I turn off my Wi-Fi and my mobile data, and turn on Airplane mode (because even if both are off, I still get emails, facebook notifications...etc as if I still had internet connection when I shouldn't).
Then, every morning, I just turn off airplane mode and turn on Wi-Fi, but about 2 days ago, it wouldn't connect to the school dorm Wi-Fi I've been using for years now (I live on campus).

Just now, as I'm posting this, I just came back to my parent's, where they have a router with 2.4 and 5.0 ghz bandwidths available. I can connect no problem to the 2.4 (I'm using it as I type this), but the same situation above happens with the 5ghz.

I've done the following: forget network and retry, delete network cache, restart phone...etc but none has worked. Idk what happened, unless some background update messed up the Wi-Fi connecting software, but I'm at a loss and so frustrated.

Go to Settings, Connections, WiFi, Advanced, make sure Smart Network Switch is off. Uncheck Auto Connect, Check the WiFi On During Sleep setting, tap the Wi-Fi control history and see if it looks correct or has an app been taking control.

So my grandma's phone is brand new like we just got it in december. It just started giving the "disabled" message under the wifi for the house today. I have an Iphone and turned on my mobile hotspot and the phone connected to my hotspot just fine. However it absolutely will not connect to the home wifi :( HHHAAAAALLLLLPPPPPP! ive done the forget network and restarted the phone aaaannnnd shut off the wifi and restarted it on the phone.... wntaf... her phone currently does not have service for the moment aaannnndddd we really need it to be able to run on the home wifi.... please and thank you

I had the same problem with my LG X constantly dropping the Wi-Fi connection and saying it was disabled. What worked was unchecking the box to use Wi-Fi manager. Go to settings and Wifi look for WiFi Manager. Uncheck the box that says use Wi-Fi manager hope this works for you

I have the same phone and version and the issue happened at about the same time. Pretty sure I found out why. I have Cricket Wireless and the MyCricket app. They have a Cricket Wi-Fi Manager within the MyCricket app. You will need to disable that. Let me know if that applies for you.

Hey guys i went through a lot of trouble trying to fix this issue, for months i searched and downloaded lots and lots of apps, watched tons of videos, then i finally learned about the wifi logging in developer settings, then found out the cause, wifi disabled by wifi manager, so i did some digging but there was no wifi manager on my phone at least that's what i thought, till i read a comment on here, someone said that cricket put the wifi manager in with another system app, what kind of crap thing to do, but my phone isn't cricket but i thought maybe the same principle applys and yes it does, i have a qlink phone, and the culprit was the qlink zone app which has stats about data usage, so i disabled that and bamm, problem solved, so if you have this error start looking at system apps either it will be a wifi manager by itself or in with another app, and my guess would be something to do with data usage, or possibly security then wifi, either way now im positive this error is a internal one, that just needs to be disabled, so i just wanted to say thanks guys for helping me nail down the culprit

Go to the wifi connection which is disabled. Click on it, look for Advanced Options. Make the nature of connection as Unmetered. Then put in the wifi password and connect. It will start working.
