Android Central Question

My Samsung Galaxy S4 displays this message until I press the Ok button. What is it and how can I stop It. The flashlight flashes, the phone vibrates and a notification sound plays. I have checked my location services for Google and Samsung. Neither bring up this message or play the same sound.

your phone was found by your %1$s

Could be a Bluetooth item?

Something on your WiFi network?

Pay attention to what is in the area when this pops up. Is it always at or near the same spot? What device might be trying to connect to your phone that has connected in the past?

%1$s is pretty specific. I'd assume it isn't a weird typo, but rather a personalized device name.

I saw this about a month ago on my phone and was very concerned I had been hacked.

Been watching google to see if anyone figured it out.

I'm very disappointed in Garmin for not notifying the general community this was their bug. I ended up downloading the entire contents of my phone and running a scan to see if I could find that particular string. Sure enough it was in the Garmin Connect app.

In other words - you'll never see this bizarre notification again if you uninstall the Garmin Connect App.
