How do I hide notifications during specific time-frame?

Need to prevent the pop-up notifications on screen say from 12am-7am; but still receive calls.

I can set the AOD to be on from 7am-12am, but I dont think that prevents notifications from popping up and lighting up the bedroom ceiling.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? How about using Do Not Disturb?

I researched, found DND, and used custom to allow calls. I haven't spoken with the wife (who was mostly offended by the notifications), and haven't tested if a call comes through the DND.
