Hide contact groups

[Android Central Question]

Hi, I'm new to Android as of today, but I've always kept my contacts in the Google ecosystem.
In iOS, you can select (and unselect) certain contact groups so that my whole address book isn't there when I'm scrolling through my contacts.
Is there any way to do this in the standard phone/contact app on the Galaxy S9?

Welcome to Android Central! It might be a little different on Samsung's contacts app, but on the Google Contacts app on my Pixel 2 XL, I can swipe in from the left and select a contact group/label. Do you have that option in your contacts app?
