Android Central Question

I have a .mcpack file, which an app in my phone called Minecraft can open and run. However, android does not let Minecraft open the file from my downloads folder. Is there a way to override the system to force Minecraft to open the file? I am using a Samsung S7 with SuperUser enabled.

No. If the file type is not something the app can't read, there's nothing you can do at your level, because this will require basically rewriting the app to support something.

What is the exact wording of the error message?

There might be a problem with the file being corrupted.
There might be a security limit on the folder the file is in.

Use a file manager. Go to the Downloads folder. Tap the file. If Minecraft opens it, you have what you want (with a little more work than you wanted). If it doesn't, Minecraft can't open it. As chanchan said, you'd have to rewrite the Minecraft app.
