Root and some questions

So I have an utok q55, unknown and probably even unexistant phone in the west. Over the last three weeks I had a terrible problem with it, "Unfortunately DMG has stopped" error keeps popping literally every second and I cant use my phone. Idk what it is I suspect a virus. Now I heard that I have to root to get rid of it, recommend me some safe and updated apps to use or tell me an updated way please.Is rooting safe if thats an virus? Sorry for many questions and thank you.
