Hard Resetting Galaxy S6

[Android Central Question]

I gave my brother my Samsung Galaxy S6, which he promptly set a password on and forgot. We are now unable to unlock the phone to activate it. When I try to hard reset it, I get a custom OS warning. I am also unable to turn the phone off while it is locked. I tried resetting it while restarting it, which also didn't work. Is there a solution to this???

There is, but it takes a repair shop. Tell your brother that he can take it to the shop, get it fixed, and pay the bill. All you have now is an expensive paperweight.
