Android Central Question

Hello.

I have an Archeer Condenser Mic and I'm looking to connect it to my Samsung J5. It has a USB cable that is solely used as a power supply, and an aux cord that it used to connect to the device. I have plugged in the USB to an external charger and put the aux cord into my headphone jack. It all clicks into place but my device won't recognise it. I also have a cord with an aux female port with a mic male aux and audio male aux although that hasnt been of use. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The + lead of the mic has to connect to the shell, the - end to the next ring up. If it's not a mic designed for an Android phone, it's probably connected + to tip, - to shell. That won't work.

(And using a charger, since it's not loaded, will probably produce all sorts of noise and hum.)
