Messenger wont install

[Android Central Question]

I have a Galaxy A5. My daughter used her Messenger on my phone and later I could not get back to mine. Uninstalled it. Then tried to reinstall. Google notify it is installed on my phone but when I go to get my messages I get taken to install app. It has been 5 days how long will it take Google to install as they keep promising?

Welcome to Android Central! Which Messenger app are you referring to -- Facebook Messenger? Do you mean that your daughter logged into her own Facebook account on your phone?

How did you uninstall the app -- by going to Settings>Apps, selecting the app, and tapping Uninstall? Did you try to reinstall using the Google Play Store app on your phone, or the Play Store website? You should be using the Play Store app.
