Android Central Question
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note8 with android software version 8.0.0
I changed my number about a month ago and since then I've been having some bizarre struggles with texting. Calling works perfectly, both ways.
The texting issues seem to be unique to me but I am hoping for some answers.
The old phone number ends with 0660 and the new number ends with 6832.
When I dial my old number on either my phone or someone else's I get a busy signal.
However, when I either receive or send a text *to a single person* my phone automatically converts it to a group mms and sends it to both the person intended and my old phone number with the additional detail that sending failed for my old number.
I've checked all the settings I can think of including, phone info, message settings (currently using message+), samsung settings, and contacts. If there's anything I've missed, let me know. Below would have been some helpful screen caps of the situation, but apparently that's spam. Cool move guys.
Example of failure to send to old number, but success to intended recipient: [link removed due to being "spammy"]
Example of group mms that was only intended for one recipient, note the group members above and that one is my old number and the other is the intended recipient: [link removed due to being "spammy"]
Example of the screen as seen by the recipient, note the same group mms setup as stated above: [link removed due to being "spammy"]
Additionally, when I receive a text back from a single person, it shows up on my phone as a group mms to both my new and old number despite the originating phone only showing one recipient. Even more odd, sending messages to myself work exactly as intended (one recipient and one sender, both of them Me)
It's all extremely confusing.
How can I keep my phone from sending stuff to my old number for apparently no reason and just send my messages to only one person without it converting to a group mms?
I've googled so much about this and I still can't find anything.
