Change the default email.

I went to settings, apps, default, and changed it to Gmail but it's still opening in email.
How do I change it?

What is opening in the wrong app? If you're tapping on a notification, that notification is coming from a particular app so tapping it will open in the app that notification came from. If you want to change your email to be in the Gmail app, you'll need to sign in to your account in that app, set it up for notifications and sign out of your email from the other app.
