AT&T/Alcatel Phone... FM Radio Circuitry

Got the phone recently and while looking up the model found some specs that show it has FM radio circuitry.. Tested it last week with wifi turned off and walked about two miles with it. Days later... launched the associated FM radio app to find that the app is now 'stopped'. Downloaded a similar FM radio app which also failed. The possibilities I see are:

- App requires a paid cellular contract... probably AT&T

- Configured the phone for wifi first...

How can the true cause be found and remedied? Guidance sought...

AT&T may have disabled the FM radio if the phone has one. In that case, you would need to use an FM radio app, with consequent data charges.

Ask them whether they have done that.
