Does the unlocked HTC U12 plus work on the Sprint network?

I currently have the Sprint HTC 10 and my phone is pretty much not working unless it is hooked up to the charger and I need to upgrade my phone. I was told by a Sprint Representative over the phone who was told by a Sprint technician that I could only upgrade to the HTC U11 or the unlocked HTC U12+.
