Android Central Question

Hello,

Noob question here. I have encrypted my Samsung Galaxy S6. I have Android 7.0.

Is my phone only in an encrypted state when it is powered off and/or before I have entered my password at initial startup?

If I am able to receive a call on my cell phone, does that mean it is not in an encrypted state?

I feel like the answer is yes, but I just want to make sure.

Thank you.

It's still encrypted no matter the state. When it's on, however (or on standby), the system just has the decryption key so that it can access information from it, but your phone is STILL encrypted. You can test out the theory by just selecting to disable encryption... it takes a while (it's way more obvious when you do it on a computer, but you'll get the idea).
